Don't get me wrong, the supermarkets do stock it but there's not a whole lot of variety. So I decided to do a little bit of searching and I came across a website Abel & Cole, that delivers fresh and organic produce to you home. I've since spotted the delivery van in my area and I decided to place my first order.
They have so much on offer and they even do what look like subscription boxes, you have the mixed fruit and vegetable boxes, souping boxes, meat and fish boxes and they come in a variety of sizes; small, medium and large. I chose the medium veggie box and a box of organic eggs.
You get some lovely information books about how to store at home and how to keep your fruit and veg fresher for longer! I can't wait to try the eggs they look lovely. I chose the petite ones to try first.
The veg I received in my first delivery was potatoes, carrots, a cauliflower, courgettes, chestnut mushroom's, purple sprouting broccoli, vine tomatoes and cherry vine tomatoes.
Overall I'm really pleased with my fist delivery and can't wait to get cooking and use these. I think I'll get a mixed fruit and veg box for next week and maybe try and see what else I can get from my usual weekly shop. It does cost £1.25 delivery but it doesn't matter how much you buy and the great thing is the most of the packaging is biodegradable, the driver picks up the box used for your previous delivery on your next delivery day and most things get reused which is fab!
I'm planning next weeks meals so I can sort out my shopping list and get my order in for Saturday.
Have you tried Abel & Cole?? What do you think?? Anything I should try??
Lots of Love
