Sample Sunday | Clif Bar - Oatmeal, Raisin and Walnut

It's Sunday, so that can only mean it's Sample Sunday time!!

I've actually got another food related Sample Sunday post for you today. It's an energy bar and I received it in my Veggie magazine I picked up at the beginning of this month. Just in case you missed that post you can see it here.

CLIF Bars are energy bars that have been around for quite sometime, I've never heard of them before let alone see them about. CLIF Bars are an energy bar from the US and are stated to be America's favourite energy bar. They're made with organic and natural ingredients. They come in 8 flavours here in the UK; Cool Mint Chocolate, Coconut Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip, Crunchy Peanut Butter, Oatmeal Raisin Walnut, Blueberry Crisp, Chocolate Almond Fudge and White Chocolate Macadamia.

You can buy them separately in most independent health food shops and Holland and Barrett for £1.79 for a 68g bar.

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I opened it as it looked a little bit like a flapjack and sometimes they can be quite dry but I was pleasantly surprised as it was moist, and the flavour was really tasty too. It was a little filling but is a fantastic snack especially if you're on the go. I'd take something like this out with me if I go for a long walk or a hike somewhere as it really does give you that much needed energy boost. I'd recommend this to someone that doesn't get a lot of time to have lunch in work or works long hours.

The flavour of this was really quite surprising and a little bit sweet. I'd buy this again and maybe pick up a couple of other flavours to try. For me, this is something I'd have as a breakfast because I don't get a lot of time in the mornings to sit and eat I'd take this on the school run with me. You could throw a couple in your bag and take them with you. So you've always got a snack to hand.

I will most definitely keep my eyes out for these and hopefully pick up a few. I know they are suitable for vegetarians but I'm not sure if they would be suitable for vegans. I didn't spot anything on the packaging but will keep my eyes out and let you know.

Have you tried these? What do you think? Which one is your favourite flavour??

Lots of Love
