Music Review | The Midnight Beast - The Tour Nobody Asked For in Manchester

I've got another music review for you today, it's from another of my favourite bands. I've been following these guys for 9 years now. They shot to fame on YouTube with their parody of Ke$ha's Tik Tok. They're called The Midnight Beast, if you haven't heard of them they're made up of 3 members Stefan Abingdon, Dru Wakely & Ashley Horne.

Opening a short tour around the country, The Midnight Beast kick started The Tour Nobody Asked For off in Manchester. I managed to bag myself some VIP tickets which meant I also got to meet the boys before the gig.

It was the rainiest day and even though I got soaked I wasn't going to let that stop me. This tour went hand in hand with the new album that they had released in August and I have to say I absolutely LOVE the new album.

They sangs old and new, from Lez Be Friends, Bootycall, Badass, Last One At The Party, Quirky, and even did a Friends For Never mash up with Daddy, that they played off as a skit. It was fantastic.

As with all their shows they were fun and had the crowd entertained and there wasn't one person that wasn't singing along, the atmosphere was amazing. I had such a great time. They had lots of props to go along with some of the songs which was just brilliant.

Of course it wouldn't be the opening show if everything ran so smoothly, they did have a few little hiccups they had to sort out during the show but it wasn't anything major.

I was expecting them to just be singing and jumping around the stage with just their mics but they did however make the transition from just a vocal group to a real band. With Stef and Ash on lead and bass guitar, Dru accompanied them drums. They played loads of their hits including the parody of "Down" which is about someones trousers dropping unexpectedly and true to form Stef's pants did "fall down" he did the song whist standing in his boxers which had a lot of the ladies swooning.

They even did an encore of the Harry Potter parody "wands" where the trio came out with hoods on their heads and of course LED wands. They even had pom-poms for the song "Booty Call".

They closed the show with the song that started it all 9 years ago, their world famous parody of Ke$ha's "Tik-Tok". With the dance routine, sing alongs and the colourful burst of confetti I have to say it was such a fantastic end to a funny night and the first of many nights of fun on this tour. I'm just gutted I could only make the opening show as I know the other shows would have been equally great!!

Did you catch TMB on this tour?? What did you think???

Lots of Love
