Over the years I've bleached and highlighted my hair not realising how much damage I've been doing, I used to use a ton of products and heat every day and I've never really had a hair care routine.
It's only since switching to more natural products that I've really started thinking about my hair and how dry and damaged it has become and what sort of products I can use to get it back to a much healthier condition. Since being on this journey I've noticed that there's not really a lot of hair products out there.
Until now....In walks Forest & Shore Hallelujah Hair Oil*.
Forest & Shore are a completely new brand and this is their first product. I was absolutely over the moon when I was asked if I wanted to review their hair oil! I mean talk about fate, this could not have come at a better time for me! The Hallelujah Hair Oil is 100% natural and organic, it is also Soil Association Certified so you know it's full of the good stuff including coconut oil, sesame oil, arnica extract, olive oil and sunflower oil.
The product is aimed at those with more dry and damaged hair. It helps to moisturise and repair hair from the inside out. What do all the ingredients do??
Organic Coconut Oil - A hydrating and nourishing oil that is easily absorbed into the hair. Coconut oil helps keep the hair proteins locked in to encourage strong, healthy hair growth.
Organic Seasame Oil - A highly penetrating oil working from the inside out, protecting your hair from damaging heat and UV rays.
Organic Olive Oil - Rich in Vitamin A, E and antioxidants, which protects the keratin and seals in the moisture. It's an essential ingredient for those that suffer with frizzy and brittle hair (oh yeah that's me).
Organic Sunflower Oil - Contains Omega 9, an important fatty acid to stop breakage and help hair growth. It also adds shine and leaves the hair feeling silky soft.
Organic Arnica Extract - Great rejuvenating properties for the scalp, which helps combat dandruff and itchiness. It stimulates and strengthens the hair follicles and prevents any early hair loss.
It sounds amazing doesn't it? Now, let's move onto the review. My first impressions of this were great, and the more I've used this wonderful product the more I love it. I've been using this once to twice a week as an intensive hair treatment. I like to use 2 pipettes full (it will depend on your hair length how much product you need) of the oil the night before I'm due to wash my hair. I'll use the first full pipette to massage into my scalp and making sure the roots are all covered, then I will use the second full pipette on the rest of my hair making sure I work right to the ends, I then like to brush my hair through and will either tie it up into a bun or I'll pop on a shower cap and go to bed and leave it on overnight. I'll wash my hair as usual and leave it to dry! It really does benefit from this little hair pick me up. It feels so soft and looks shiney afterwards.
If I'm not doing a treatment, I will take 2-3 drops of the oil and on towel dried hair I'll work it into the ends for a little bit of added moisture then dry and style as usual. I don't use a hairdryer and try to leave my hair to dry naturally, but I've definitely noticed a difference since using this lovely oil.
I've only tried it on my hair dry once, just 1-2 drops on the ends and to smooth down any flyaways. I avoid my roots though as my hair can get quite greasy fairly quickly.
This oil isn't greasy and doesn't weigh your hair down so you could use this most days. I feel for my hair it works better as an intensive treatment. I've been using this oil for about 4 weeks now and I can most certainly feel and see the difference.
Because I'm a naturally curly girl I tend to find I end up with a frizzy Afro that just won't do a thing but my hair has become much more manageable, it looks and feels so much softer. I can't stop touching it, it feels softer while I'm washing it too!!
I do really like the scent of this oil it's got Lavender and Lemon in it which gives it a really nice fresh scent. I don't find it strong at all but I'm all about fresh citrusy scents so this ticks all the right boxes.
Can we please just take a minute to admire just how pretty the packaging is?! I mean it's just gorgeous, I can't bring myself to throw the box away so it's sat on my dressing table. I love really eye catching yet simple designs that don't distract you from all the information printed on them. This is such a pretty print. The bottle looks so chic and stylish too, it really looks like such a high end and luxurious brand.
I like the pipette applicator, it's so easy to use, no fuss no mess and it's much more hygienic. You can pop this in your bag for using whilst on your travels or while you're out and about.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a cruelty free, natural and organic hair oil. It really does work wonders on dry and damaged hair. You can get your hands on this on Amazon here for a really good price. It comes in two sizes, for a 50ml bottle it's £9.99 plus P&P or for a 100ml bottle it's £11.99 plus P&P.
Both fantastic prices, and for a natural and organic product it really is a bargain. I'm looking forward to seeing what other products Forest & Shore bring out with. They are definitely a brand to watch out for.
What are your favourite hair oils??
Lots of Love
