I started my Vegetarian journey 4 weeks ago and just wanted to share a little update as I've found it really quite challenging. I genuinely thought that as soon as I had made my decision I wouldn't think of meat.
Wow, I've had a few slip ups and I've had days where all I want to eat is meat but for the majority of the days I've been good. I've been trying to find some great recipes and I've been eating some meat replacements.
I've even used Quorn meat free meat for some of my favourite recipes and the kids haven't even noticed the difference. I still stick by my decision for becoming a vegetarian for my health and I do feel better in myself than I have done for a long time. I'm trying to add more veg to each meal and as alternative snacks.
I'm still very much learning and I don't punish myself and make myself feel too guilty for having a slip up. I'm sure it will get easier over the next few months, of course I'll keep you updated and I'm hoping to share some recipes in the future too. My OH and the munchkins still have meat in their diet so I still have to buy and cook it for them. Just because my views have changed I wouldn't try and enforce it them. They may change their mind, who knows.
Just switching from such a meat heavy diet to a Vegetarian one I've already lowered my risks to a lot of health problems. I'm in the process of getting a blog post together about the health benefits of becoming a veggie. I'm really excited to share because it's opened my eyes an awful lot. I'm just keeping this short today as my next few posts are going to be pretty long as I go into a LOT of details because I love knowledge and learning. I've also got a few other projects up my sleeve that I'm really excited to share with you.
